5 Reasons to print your photographs

In todays digital world, taking photographs is just a click away. It’s quick, easy and indeed almost effortless. With cameras, iPads, mobile phones and Instagram, taking photos has become more fun than truly making memories. Sure, keeping an enormous collection of pictures in your smartphone, hard drive or computer is easy but it’s to a point where we’re taking more and more photographs but printing less and less of them. We’ve all but forgotten the simple pleasure of having a printed photograph at our fingertips. Here’s a thought! How about we revive your memory and inspire you with some practical points that will give you inspiration to print not ALL of your photographs but at least a couple of the really special ones.

1. Print Photographs Can Be Exhibited
How often do we see digital photos on display at home or work? Print photographs give you the option to display your favorite photos. You can use them as decorative items at work or home. It not only brightens up the place but also works as a great means of quality conversation with people.
Sure you can scroll through the thousands of photos on your phone or computer but that’s a great way of losing the interest of whomever you’re sharing them with *yawn*. There’s nothing quite like displaying favourite memories on the wall, fridge or desks to be shared at will with any passerby who may perchance to stop.

2. You Can Add Notes to Photographs
Imagine, you see an old photo and you can’t remember where or when the photo was shot but when you turn the photo you see a note written by you. The note gives you the opportunity to relive and recall the exact moment when the photo was taken. Plus, your kids and grand kids would thank you later for adding those notes. The thousands of photographs stored on your computer lack that kind of personal touch.

3. Technology Evolves
Once upon a time, there existed Compact Cassettes. Sound familiar? Todays generation is probably oblivious of such technology. Technology is dynamic and constantly changing and chances are, those digitally stored cherished photographs may not be able to be extracted in future years. With a bit of care, printed photographs will last forever.

4. Print photographs Are More Valuable
Imagine, someone going through your stuff in the future and all they can find is, a dozen hard drives,  memory cards and USB sticks. Would they go through the hassle to load them in the computer? More than likely not. But it would be a priceless feeling to find a box full of valuable pictures that they can go through and admire.

5. Printed Photos Talk to Us
Lets face it! A few simple prints are simply more beautiful and fun to watch. Maybe its the unique texture and feel of printed photos that everyone loves. Many people like to hold pictures in their hand rather than scrolling through various photos on iPad or a laptop.

Capturing memories through photography is only one part of the process. Being able to look back on that moment and cherish it through a printed photograph is a way of ensuring that memory stays with you generations into the future.
